Q: Are roof coatings compatible with any type of roof?
A: Roof Coating systems are available for restoration of your existing metal roof, single ply rubber roof (EPDM), single ply TPO roof, single ply PVC roof, modified bitumen roof, asphalt built up roof, concrete roof and polyurethane foam roof (SPF).

Q: I have a metal roof and it’s beginning to rust. Can I use a high quality paint to protect it?
A: It’s not recommended. Paints are not designed to withstand the extreme conditions a roof has to endure. In most cases paint will only last 3 to 4 years on a roof surface. Most importantly, paint will not stop leaks. Roof coatings are specifically formulated to handle the harsh UV rays, extreme roof-top temperatures and other environmental conditions.

Q: Will I need to replace my roof even if I have a roof coating installed and continue routine maintenance?
A: The proper application of a quality roof coating and routine maintenance are the key to the life cycle of any roof. There are many variables including chemical exposure and unusual weather conditions that can shorten the life of your roof even with proper maintenance. However, in most cases, a roof coating system can extend the roof life cycle for many years.

Q: When should I consider installing a roof coating on my roof?
A: It really depends on the type of roof, the age and its current condition. Generally, a roof coating is ideal at the first sign of a problem or just before your warranty expires.  Often times roof coatings are installed to reduce energy demands, even when no problem is present.
